Rich learning experiences

At DYIBS, we integrate technology into classroom activities and the curriculum in order to provide rich and meaningful 21st century learning experiences.  This comprehensive curriculum is designed to empower students to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly in our digital world.

In today’s world, literacy has evolved beyond its basic definition of knowing how to read and write. Everyone is required to know how to process, deliver and receive information in today’s highly digitalized world. It is inevitable that the definition of literacy includes components of digital literacy, which emphasizes the ability to use digital technology, communication tools and networks to locate, evaluate, use and create information. Learning experiences are made richer by the appropriate use of technology, and skills learnt are directly transferable to the workplace.

Our program ensures our students learn how to think critically and ethically as they harness technology in their learning; behave safely and appropriately online; to identify what information is important online, use technology as a tool to showcase their skills and talents.

Tablets

Each student will be required to follow strict rules when using technology in the classroom.  Violations of these rules will result in the loss of privileges as well as other disciplinary action as defined by the CIP Homeroom teacher and DYIBS Administration.

Students are provided with a school email address and a password.  They are not allowed to use their own personal email to log in during school hours.  The email address belongs to DYIBS domain under Google Suite which helps to ensure the online safety for our students.  The homeroom teacher has the password for the students log in accounts. It is students’ responsibility to remember passwords.  The school will not be issuing new passwords.  It is the students responsibility not to share their password with their classmates.

Students can install additional software on their tablet but must only use the learning apps required by the teacher during class time.
